Panasonic EW-DJ10 Review: Is It Worth The Money?

The EW-DJ10-A is one of the portable water flosser model released by Panasonic. It appears Pansonic really aimed to capture the portable water flosser market with this model – and we think they have succeeded. The Panasonic EW-DJ10-A possesses the smallest size and footprint of any water flosser that we have reviewed.

Pros:

  • Great portability and compact size.
  • Powerful and effective pulsating jet stream that will clear debris and leave the mouth feeling clean.
  • It has a waterproof design that users to use it in the shower

Cons:

  • The water reservoir is difficult to dry and clean, which has lead some users to observe mold growth.
  • Some reviewers expressed difficulty opening the battery compartment.
  • Most users report having to refill for each session

In our research, it was also the only water flosser that is powered by removable batteries (2 AA Batteries). Most other portable water flossers are recharged through adapters; and while this has its own advantages, it also means that international travelers will often have to worry about finding a proper voltage or plug adapter.

When you are done, the tip can be removed and stored in a side compartment of the handle – which in turn can be collapsed into the water reservoir. Storing the tip and collapsing the handle reduces the size of the unit down to about 5.625 x 2.7 x 2 from an “in-use” size of 8.6 x 2.7 x 2.

Panasonic does not list how strong the PSI is on the EW-DJ10-A. However, user reviews often comment to commend its strength. In a side by side comparison between the Pansonic EW-DJ10-A and the Waterpik Ultra, which has a listed PSI range of 5-90 PSI, we found that the high setting on the EW-DJ10-A corresponds to about an “8” on the Ultra.

This comes out to be around 73 PSI. The low setting corresponds to about a “3” on the Ultra, which translates to be about 31 PSI. These values should be considered only as an estimate; the actual strength of the EW-DJ10-A will most likely vary with the condition and type of the battery being used.

I was thinking of building a top notch quality blog about oral health. There's a lot of blogs out there on the internet. Some are of good quality and some are bad. iBreathBad.com will not be a random blog. I've a plan to transform this blog into an authority blog. :)
